Jackie is just the best! She provides love through food, and does so in many different ways, for many different gathers, occasions, meetings, etc. She is a hoot to chat with as well. Anytime someone can fill my belly and make me laugh when we chat, that’s my kind of people! I’m so thankful for Jackie and the incredible service she provides for our students specifically, and I’m thankful we have her at Horizon Elementary. Thank you for all you do!

Joey is always a positive addition to our day when he stops by Eagle Heights. Joey is open to conversations about ways to make things easier for students, staff, and the tech department and has collaborated on multiple projects to make them happen. Many times, people stop him to ask a question or with an issue, and he is always happy to pivot and assist them while putting his current task on pause. Everyone at Eagle enjoys seeing Joey in our building!

“Super Dave Harper is the kind of colleague who makes Smithville High School shine—literally and figuratively! Every interaction with Dave comes with a smile, a joke, or even a song, making the school day brighter for everyone. His work ethic is second to none. Dave hits the ground running from the moment he arrives and continues giving 110% until the end of his shift. Students know Dave by name, which speaks volumes about the relationships he builds. He responds promptly to every request, solving issues with incredible efficiency and ensuring that Smithville High School always looks its best. Beyond his hard work, Dave takes the time to coach and communicate with others, lifting up his colleagues and sharing his expertise. One of Dave’s most inspiring qualities is the kindness and patience he shows in his interactions with our essential skills students. Whether it’s in the cafeteria or around the school, Dave values their contributions, treating them with understanding and gratitude every day. Smithville High School wouldn’t be the same without Super Dave. We are so proud to call him a colleague and a friend. Thank you, Dave, for all that you do”

Noelle's passion for literature and her deep commitment to fostering a love of reading and writing in her students is simply amazing. What sets Noelle apart is her ability to create a classroom environment that feels both challenging and welcoming. She fosters a space where students feel safe to take risks with their ideas, ask questions, and express themselves without fear of judgment. Through her encouragement, many students have gained confidence in their writing skills and have learned to value the power of their own voices.

“Mrs. Atkinson consistently goes above and beyond to support students who are struggling or feeling overwhelmed. Her approach to helping them succeed is nothing short of inspiring. She encourages students with the motto, “Eat the elephant one bite at a time,” breaking down tasks into manageable pieces so they can tackle their work without feeling defeated. Michelle holds students to high standards, refusing to accept subpar effort. She lays out tasks clearly, setting expectations that help students take pride in their work and do their very best. She is committed to their success, even completing assignments herself so she can better guide students through the process. As a team member, Michelle is exceptional. Her insight, perspective, and support make her an invaluable asset to our school. She not only helps students on her caseload but also empowers her colleagues to be better educators for all students. Her kindness, care, and unwavering dedication to her role are truly remarkable.”
