The Smithville School District is pleased to announce that the Board of Education has approved a new Executive Director of Operations and Safety for the 2025-2026 school year.
Dr. Justin Collins has accepted this role and will bring valuable leadership experience to the district. He currently serves as the Superintendent of Schools for the Gallatin R-V School District. Prior to this position, he served as the Principal of Gallatin Middle School.

I believe that communication and collaboration are essential in establishing and maintaining a safe, efficient, and successful school district. Throughout my career, I have witnessed the dedication of school staff, families, and community members working together to support student success. At Smithville, I am committed to fostering these strong partnerships while ensuring that our schools operate efficiently and securely,” stated Collins. “Smithville has a proud tradition of excellence, and together, we will continue to strengthen our district. I look forward to a successful year ahead—Go Warriors!”
Dr. Collins earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Missouri Western State University. He also holds a Master of Education and Specialist in Education from Northwest Missouri State University. In 2021, he earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Saint Louis University.
Dr. Collins will begin his new role on July 1, 2025. We warmly welcome him to the Warrior family and look forward to his contributions to our district’s success!
