The Smithville School District is pleased to announce the Board of Education approved a new Executive Director of Operations and Safety for the 2024-2025 school year. Mr. Saxton will succeed Robert Hedgecorth, who is joining the Ozark School District.
Ian Saxton has accepted the role of Executive Director of Operations and Safety for the Smithville School District. Mr. Saxton is currently the Director of Facility Operations at The University of Kansas Medical Center. Prior to this position, he served as the Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist at The University of Kansas Health System.
“I am thrilled to be part of this organization and eager to contribute to its success. I am looking forward to building on the existing work and continuing to strive for outstanding service and support,” stated Saxton.
Mr. Saxton attended Missouri Southern State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health Sciences. He also holds a Masters in Healthcare Administration with a focus on Project Management from Park University. Additionally, he has acquired numerous certifications in safety and operations.
Mr. Saxton will start his new role on July 1, 2024. We warmly welcome Mr. Saxton to the Warrior family and look forward to his contributions to our district’s success!
