Taylor Jahn has accepted the role of Maple Elementary Principal for the 2024-2025 school year. Dr. Jahn is currently the Assistant Principal at Horizon Elementary School. Prior to that she served as an instructional coach in the Independence School District. In addition Dr. Jahn spent four years as an elementary instructional coach at Westview Elementary and a district math coach in the Excelsior Springs School District. She has 12 years of experience as an educator. Jahn taught 3rd and 4th grade at Lewis Elementary and K-8 gifted and talented in the Excelsior Springs School District.
“I have been blessed to be a part of the Smithville School District Community for the past two years,” stated Jahn. “I am thrilled to continue my journey in this community as the Principal of Maple Elementary School. Go Warriors!”
Dr. Jahn attended Missouri Western State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and also holds a Masters of Teaching in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of St. Mary. She earned her Education Specialist degree in School Administration and Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from William Woods University.
